Bringing together wisdom to create a platform for transforming scientific and technological achievements in the Yangtze River Delta

At the opening ceremony of the first China International Import Expo, Xi Jinping pointed out: In order to better play the important role of Shanghai and other regions in opening up to the outside world, supporting the regional integration of the Yangtze River Delta will become a national strategy. The speech of the General Secretary encourages us to act positively and integrate into the overall development with a high spirit.

With the support of the Jiaxing Municipal People's Government, Shanghai University and the Nanhu District People's Government, Shanghai University (in Jiaxing of Zhejiang Province) Emerging Industry Research Institute has settled in Jiaxing Science and Technology City. At present, Jiaxing City is making every effort to promote the construction of medium and high-end industrial clusters such as information, culture, tourism, fashion, finance, environmental protection, high-end equipment manufacturing and new materials. We will focus on the three themes of “new materials, intelligence and ecology” as we forge a platform for innovation and entrepreneurship featuring high-tech achievements transformation, business incubation, strategic emerging industry cultivation and talent fostering.

The Institute will gather outstanding talents, select and foster outstanding scientific and technological achievements, obtain efficient and accurate incubation and transformation demonstration effects, and strive to build a practical platform for the industrialization of Shanghai University's high-level achievements. The Institute will always give talented people top priority, attract domestic and foreign innovative and entrepreneurial personnel to create an strengthened force to support the industrialization of achievements; use the first-class disciplines of Shanghai University and the high-quality resources of domestic and foreign partners to build a professional service system for the industrialization of achievements. Also, the Institute will explore a variety of effective ways of cooperation, promote the smooth transformation and industrialization of scientific and technological achievements at home and abroad, and provide strong support for the high-quality integration of the Yangtze River Delta and the development of emerging industries.
